How to Bypass Your Belief Detective

by DebbieThomas

Do you feel that you harbor beliefs about yourself that are sabotaging your success? What if there was a way to get past the Belief Detective that is guarding those old beliefs and not allowing you to become the person you want to?

You may not realize this, but your beliefs are assumptions, explanations, and conclusions you’ve adopted throughout your life starting in infancy. They become the rules that shape your perception of the world. They become so ingrained, due in part to your experiences that seem to prove their accuracy. So you think they are truth, when in fact they are not.

We’ve all known children that have grown up in the same household that have turned out totally different from each other. How can that be? It’s because the beliefs that they form are based on how they interpret their environment, not on the environment itself. If the children are left alone a lot, one may become fiercely independent because they believe that they learned to take care of themselves. The other child might feel rejected and become needy and end up searching for the love they feel they missed out on. It’s the same environment, but a different interpretation of the environment leads to different beliefs. Read more about How to Bypass Your Belief Detective →

7 Highly Effective Habits of Happy People With Illness

by Lisa Copen

As I write this article my 4-year-old son sits beside me with a cold and a little fever. All he has said since he woke up today is “I’m better now. I’m all better.” Does our attitude change how we cope with illness and our level of happiness?

Everyone copes with challenges in their lives in different ways. For those who are diagnosed with a chronic illness they may put on a happy face and literally decide they will use this as a dare to succeed, constantly trying to overcome any limitations it sets forth. Others will drive home from the doctor’s office wondering how much longer they will be able to drive because of the pain. They’ll flop down on the couch and rarely roam from it for years. What is it that makes some people thrive despite their chronic illness and others simply survive and use it as an excuse for everything that goes wrong?

People who live with chronic illness and still exude happiness and joy for life have some things in common. None of us are perfect, so even if we tend to cope well with our disease, there is likely a step listed below that we could take to improve our outlook on life. Successful Job Interviews.

by Ray James

A successful job interview is what can give you the big break in your career. Successfully cracking the interview is a difficult task and there are many pitfalls to avoid. The “fear factor” associated with an interview is the most deleterious aspect and will often ruin your chances. To overcome this problem, exceptional preparation is the only solution. If you tackle a job interview unprepared, you will find yourself in trouble and it will do nothing for your career reputation. Successful job interviews are those where you answer the questions intelligently, have a precise strategy and possess back up information about every item related to the job.

Carefully prepare your plan for the interview, being sure that you have all the necessary information about the company, its terms and conditions, and other important details. Bring together your certificates and mark sheets and set up a good file of all your data and present it in an attractive standard format. Do not forget to include your current resume at the beginning of the file. Carry several copies of your updated resume with you.

Make a record of the type of questions you suspect you will be asked by the interviewer. Prepare answers to these questions and write them down. Craft your answers based on the facts and your qualifications. The entire outcome from the interview is dependent upon how successfully you answer the questions and how well you justify yourself. You should be able to explain why you want this particular job, why you are wishing to join this industry and what you are exactly looking for in this job. These questions are vital as they justify your inclination and thinking. There are then questions regarding your weaknesses and strengths, your greatest achievements, what you really wish to accomplish as a career, what your experience tells you and many other general questions. The answers to these types of questions should be informative and you must justify your points in detail. Read more about Successful Job Interviews. →
